SENKI VIEW, Aug 28: The Senki View Colony Welfare Committee has expressed appreciation for Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan for banning bathing, washing clothes, using detergent, organizing picnics, late-night parties, and other activities in and around the water treatment Plant (WTP) in Senki View area.
In a letter to the DC, the committee’s president Kipa Lolgo and general secretary Kali Cheda thanked him for the prompt response to their appeal, and said banning of bathing would save the lives of youths who earlier swarmed the area to bathe in the Senki river and organized late-night parties along the river’s banks.
The committee said the step would go a long way in maintaining peace and tranquility in the area, and also save the river from being polluted. It requested the administration to continue the deployment of police personnel in the area.
Ganga Youth Club president Techi Nekam also appreciated the action taken by the administration.
Meanwhile, the DC informed that the administration has written to the Itanagar PHED executive engineer, informing him about the provision of security in the WTP area.
“The administration is also very concerned about several incidents that took place in the WTP area. Police security has already been provided and private security will be deployed soon,” Dhawan said.
