DIGHA (West Bengal), Sep 3: Dr Chowdim Tayang, eye specialist at the Lower Dibang Valley district hospital in Roing, was conferred with the Silver Plaque Award of the Association of Community Ophthalmologists of Indian during its annual conference here on 1 September.
Dr Tayang was chosen for the award in recognition of his community service in ophthalmology and closely associating with Changlang-based Avoidable Blindness Free Arunachal and the Namsai-based ‘Seeing is Believing’ projects implemented by the NPCB and VI-Arunachal in collaboration with Operation Eyesight Universal, the Standard Chartered Bank, and Jorhat (Assam)-based Chandraprabha Eye Hospital.
