LAHU, Sep 25: As many as 254 villagers including 82 children benefited from a free medical camp organised by the medical team of the Khonsa battalion of the Assam Rifles (AR) at Lahu village in Tirap district on Monday.
The medical team also educated the people about HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, malaria, water-borne diseases, hygiene and sanitation.
The camp was inaugurated by the AR’s Lekhapani sector DIG and the Khonsa battalion commandant. They urged the people to support the Army personnel for the security and progress of the region, and assured the people of cooperation and sincere efforts in bringing development to the region.
The battalion had earlier conducted free medical camps at Kunsa and Nginu villages in Longding district. (DIPRO)
