Insurgents injured in gunfight with security forces

JAGUN (Assam), Sep 25: Two ULFA (I) insurgents were seriously injured in an exchange of fire with security forces during an operation launched by security forces near Jagun and Kakorani reserve forest on Monday.
According to a report from the Kohima-based defence PRO, the security forces had launched the operation based on information regarding movement of insurgents in areas near Jagun and Kakorani reserve forest on the evening of 24 September.
The security forces recovered a 3-kg improvised explosive device, besides live grenades for under-barrel grenade launchers, fired cartridges, and other stores at the site of the incident, the PRO said.
Meanwhile, additional columns of security forces have been launched and search operations are in progress, he added.
