HONG, Sep 26: Minister RWD, IPR and Parliamentary Affairs Bamang Felix inaugurated a slew of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Hong village under Lower Subansiri district on Wednesday under the aegis of Helping Hand, a Delhi based NGO.
The Helping Hands, led by Rashtrapati Bhawan Joint Commissioner of Police, Robin Hibu is spear heading the movement to improve living conditions and assist the distressed north east people living in different parts of the country.
“This day shall be etched in golden letters in the history of Hong village. It is the start of a journey of philanthropic activities initiated by kind-hearted people from Delhi. Hong shall become the epicentre of CSR activities that will further percolate to other places in the state,” said Felix while congratulating the people of Hong, as well as Ziro.
Expressing gratitude to the CEOs of various companies and organisation for choosing Arunachal as a part of their CSR activities, he extended full support to their endeavours. He further suggested collecting feedback from corporate leaders and tourists to further assist the government in framing tourist-friendly policies.
He also assured to take up the Hong village road maintenance in this financial year.
In his inaugural address Hibu expressed gratitude to all the different organizations from Delhi for being a part of youth empowerment in Arunachal Pradesh.
Later, the minister unveiled the statue of late Hibu Nyipa, one of the first few head goan buras of Hong village.
He also inaugurated the Six Sigma Healthcare High Altitude Medical Centre and Mahatma Gandhi Rural Information Centre and library.
MLA Tage Taki and Likha Saaya also spoke on the occasion.
As part of the CSR initiatives, the AFTA announced to build a state of art cultural hall, while the Six Sigma Health Care will train local people in high altitude health care services.
Other initiatives include set up an information kiosk at the rural library, a vermin-compost unit which will produce 10 metric tons of vermin-compost and a regional skill training center at Hong by the National Youth Project.
MA Khan, CEO of Satyadesh Magazine/TV channel announced to sponsor an academic block at the Helping Hands School. ALS, a premier IAS coaching institute assured to set up a regional coaching centre in collaboration with Avanti IIT coaching centre Mumbai in Hong Village.
Organisers of the Exquisite Beauty Pageant announced to conduct the Subba Badminton Tournament at Helping Hands School, while the Sunrise Yonex Badminton Hall will be constructed by the Sunrise Yonex (I) Pvt.
Philanthropist Saroj Kapoor will provide a school bus and create a children’s park at Hong.
Meanwhile, exceptional achievers from Hong were also felicitated on the occasion, which includes Kago Mobin, a 12-year-old marathon runner who has won over 13 races.
Among others, former minister Padi Richo, Tani Supun Dukun president Hage Tado, officers, goan buras and goan buris and public attended the programme. (DIPRO)
