RUPA, Nov 20: The army recruitment rally which began here in West Kameng district on Tuesday is receiving overwhelming response from youths across the state.
Around 800 candidates from Lohit, Namsai, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, Longding, Tirap, Changlang and Anjaw participated in the run test conducted to test the candidates’ speed and stamina at Gyaptong Stadium here, reports DIPRO.
The run test for the candidates from Siang, East Siang, Upper Siang, West Siang, Kra Daadi, Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Papum Pare, East Kameng, West Kameng and Tawang will be conducted on the second day.
The medical examinations are scheduled to be carried out from the third day onwards.
Earlier, over 200 youths from Namsai and Changlang districts participated in a pre-recruitment rally conducted by the Indian Army’s Chowkham battalion.
The 45-day training programme was aimed at preparing the candidates for the rally here. The civil administration assisted the army in conducting the classes for the written examinations.
