PASIGHAT, Nov 30: In all, thirty trainees, including executive engineer, assistant engineer, junior engineer of WRD/ RWD/ DRDA, officers of various line departments, HDO, ADO, SMS of KVK besides, laboratory and farm assistants attended a five-day capacity building training on ‘Rainwater harvesting and its management for horticultural crops’ which concluded at the College of Horticulture and Forestry (CHF), Central Agricultural University here on Friday.
The training was aimed at upgrading the skill and knowledge of participants with the latest advancement in rain water harvesting structures, fresh water resource management, micro-irrigation, their design and construction, soil and water management techniques, importance of soil testing and cultivation package of practices of horticultural crops.
Associate Professor, CHF, CAU, Pasighat, Dr. Saroj Kumar Pattanaaik imparted training to the participants during the programme which was chaired by Dean, CHF, CAU, Dr. B.N.Hazarika and Dean COA, CAU, Meghalaya, Dr. U. K. Behera.
