BENE, Feb 7: The Aalo unit of the field outreach bureau (FOB) organised an awareness programme on the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Mission (ABM) at Bene village in West Siang district on Thursday.
District programme coordinator from the health department, Christina Gadi, highlighted the benefits under Ayushman Bharat. Informing that the scheme has been launched for the tribal poor, she urged the people to take advantage of it.
Gadi informed that the government provides facilities like free diagnoses of blood pressure and diabetes under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke, besides free medical counselling and anti-tobacco medicine under the National Tobacco Control Programme.
M Basar from the FOB unit informed about the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, also known as Medicare, which was launched in 2018 under the ABM.
A large number of people, including students and government officials, attended the programme, which was organized in coordination with the health department, the Women’s Welfare Society and the government middle school here.
