CHANGLANG, Feb 11: The police here arrested two persons – one of them a police constable – on Sunday in connection with drug peddling.
The suspects have been identified as Dihom Kitnya and Constable Mingsam Ngemu.
DSP N Ete informed that on 10 February, after receiving information regarding the presence of drug peddlers in Changlang town, a police team led by SI Sunny Wangsu conducted a check, “during which the suspected peddlers were stopped on arrival.”
During the search, the police recovered suspected contraband substance (brown sugar) in three small plastic pouches, weighing approximately 15 grams, from inside the right sock of Ngemu.
The suspected contraband substance was seized, and the duo was arrested.
A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered and investigation is on, the DSP said.
