YANKANG, Feb 12: Local MLA Tesam Ponte inaugurated the building of the government secondary school here in Changlang district on Tuesday.
The building, comprising five classrooms, was constructed by the PWD under the SIDF.
The MLA later also inaugurated the guest house in Phangtip village, constructed by the Yatdam BDO under the BADP.
Addressing the villagers, Changlang DC RK Sharma, who along with BDO Rani Mibang and others accompanied the MLA, urged the villagers to utilize the school and the guest house properly.
Sharma urged the villagers to get themselves registered under Aadhaar and open bank accounts to avail of the state government’s flagship schemes. He also advised them to take up livelihood activities under the agriculture, horticulture, textile & handicraft, etc, departments.
Pongte in his address said the school and the guest house were long-felt needs of the area, and added that many more schemes are in the pipeline to be implemented in the area.
The MLA advised the villagers to get themselves registered under the CM Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY), and requested the district’s health department to launch an insurance registration drive under the CMAAY. (DIPRO)
