JOTE, Feb 16: Chief Secretary Satya Gopal along with IPR Minister Bamang Felix, Land Management Minister Nabam Rebia, IPR Secretary Sonam Chombay and officers of the implementing agencies visited the site of the Film & Television Institute (FTI) here in Papum Pare district on Saturday.
The foundation stone of the FTI was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the capital on 9 February.
Addressing a gathering of local residents, Felix exhorted them to create an atmosphere conducive to completing the project.
“This will bring long-term benefits in the society in terms of economical development, and secure the future of the coming generation. I have come to bridge the relation between the locals and the project developers, and I hope this relation will be cordial and beneficial for both,” the minister said, and lauded the land donors.
Felix gave assurance that fund would be managed for laying a wider road to the FTI, and commended the IPR secretary and director for their contribution in making the project come true.
The minister informed that the FTI here is the third of its kind in the country “where the youths can pursue their interests and become successful in the world of films and television.”
He assured the implementing agencies that all support would be provided to them by the state government.
Rebia said Jote and its adjoining areas “are turning out to be higher education hubs with the setting up of various important and prestigious institutions.”
He assured to take up the matter of improving the road to Balijan, Hollongi etc, “and usher in faster development to the area.”
Stressing on quality of work, Rebia also said fund would be managed for laying a broader road to the FTI.
Gopal, PWD CE Manoj Kr Talve, and FTI nodal officer Prof A Chakravarty also gave their inputs. (DIPR)
