NYORCH, Mar 20: Aashiyana Cricket Club (ACC) lifted the second Nyokum Big Bash T-20 tournament trophy, defeating Bluehill Tinsukia Cricket Club (BTCC) by 25 runs in the final at the general ground here in Papum Pare district on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and deciding to field first, BTCC restricted ACC to 144 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Kushal and Nalin Chetya scored 35 and 24 runs, respectively, for the winning team.
For BTCC, K Kumar took the highest four wickets.
Chasing the target, BTCC were bundled out for 119 runs.
Sahif Khan and K Kumar scored 26 and 22 runs, respectively, for their team.
The winners were awarded with cash prize of Rs 1.50 lakhs along with a medal and the runner-up team a cash prize of Rs 70,000 with a medal.
Kushal of ACC was declared ‘man of the series’. He was awarded a laptop.
Bhaijan Sonowal, who took four wickets in the final match, was declared ‘man of the match’. He was given a mobile phone.
Addressing the players before the match started, Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries president Tarh Nachung encouraged the young sportspersons to uphold discipline and sportsman spirit on and off the field.
“Winning and losing are part of any game as well as life. What matters more is participation and dedication,” Nachung said.
Social worker Tok Tuma advised the players to play with true sportsmanship spirit.
Organising chairman Nabam Abo also spoke.
Sixteen teams from different parts of Arunachal and Assam participated in the tournament, which was organised by the youths of Nyorch and Tarajuli.
