NAMSAI, Oct 25: At least 24 applicants presented their individual project proposal, mostly on tourism, agro processing and value addition, textile & handloom and manufacturing units covered under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Swavalamban Yojana during a District Level Screening Committee (DLSC) meeting on Tuesday.
Namsai Deputy Commissioner, R K Sharma said that the unique scheme would convert job-seeking youths into job providers, and requested the applicants to repay the EMI of the loan amount to the banks in due time for their project proposals to be rewarded and recommended for acceptance.
The DC also requested the bankers to expedite release of loan amount to the selected beneficiaries as per guidelines.
As a new district, Namsai has tremendous potential for development in tourism, agro processing and value addition, textile and handloom and manufacturing sectors, he added.
