NIRJULI, Sep 20: A 10-day skill development training programme on ‘scientific ways of pig rearing for breeding and fattening’ concluded here in Papum Pare district on Wednesday.
Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) faculty member Martin Tayeng and Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB)-RSETI Director Aben Dupak imparted training on various subjects, including entrepreneurial competency, time management, priority sector lending, lending to piggery units, livestock insurance, and cashless banking.
Faculty member from the Karsingsa central pig breeding farm, Dr S Acharjee, imparted training on scientific pig rearing, including selection of site, construction and maintenance of shed, etc.
KVK Head Dr Bangkeng Perme made a PowerPoint presentation on waste management in piggery, and preparation of project reports for availing finance from banks.
The trainees were also taken on a field visit to the integrated piggery farming-cum-pisiculture unit and black pepper plantation of one Nangram in Rono Hills.
During the valedictory function, DVO Dr Dagge Riba lauded the RSETI and its team for “rendering their excellent services for the cause of self-employment and entrepreneurship development.” He also gave away the training certificates to the participants.
The APRB-RSETI is the lone institute which provides training to educated unemployed youths from all districts of the state.
