ITANAGAR, Nov 1: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) organized an awareness programme for reformed juveniles at its conference hall here on Friday.
Attending the programme, APSLSA Member Secretary Budi Habung spoke about the availability of free legal services to poor, needy and tribal people, the role of the paralegal volunteers, the JJ Act, 2015, etc.
Capital SP Tumme Amo delivered a lecture on policing in the twin capital towns, and highlighted the works done by the capital police with the cooperation of the people. The SP also administered a pledge to all the participants to not indulge in criminal acts, to follow traffic rules, to never take drugs or tobacco, to keep their surrounding clean, and such.
Earlier, Habung and Amo expressed reservation over the nomenclature of the All Arunachal Pradesh Delinquent Welfare Association (AAPDWA), and suggested renaming it as the ‘Arunachal Pradesh Reformed Juveniles Welfare Association’, as the association has been formed by reformed persons who had undergone all legal proceedings as children in conflict with the law.
AAPDWA president Tacho Dana Tanang and its secretary Gichik Kiokam expressed gratitude to Habung and Amo for their suggestion regarding renaming the association.
