CHANGLANG, Nov 18: Twenty women were provided with free LPG connections under the Ujjwala Yojana during a district administration organised Sarkar Aapke Dwar (SAD) camp at Phangtip village here under Changlang district on Monday.
Apart from this, various government services through government departments were provided to over a thousand villagers from Jongrom, Yangkang, Jongphohate, Nakang, New Sumlam, Wawai Sabban, Hotongchu, Sakhetong and Simnom villages of Yatdam Circle of the district during the camp.
In his address to the gathering, ADC Talo Jerang explained the objectives of SAD and the services being provided through various departments, and urged all the villagers to take advantage of the programme. He also appealed to the gaon burahs and public leaders to make wide publicity among the villagers about the next SAD camp to ensure that maximum villagers benefit from the programme.
Changlang Superintendent of Police Mihin Gambo advocated for involving students in the SAD to enable them to acquire knowledge on schemes being implemented through various departments. He further urged all to abstain from opium addiction and its illicit trafficking.
