ITANAGAR, Dec 6: The All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association has urged the state government to “immediately release the fund for works departments against each project as per work progress report.”
Although the state government talks about quality work and time-bound completion of projects, it fails to release the funds on time, the association stated in a press release.
“Since August 2019 and till date no single penny of funds has been released to all works departments, due to which most of the contractors (are) facing financial problems and non-release of fund also affects the progress of project works,” it said.
Claiming that the deputy chief minister’s office refused to meet the association’s members many a time to discuss “the non-release of LOC,” the association said it might be compelled to “organize mass meeting of all working contractors in state departments to fight for justice if the LOC is not released within December.”
It also requested the chief minister’s office to provide equal opportunity to the public and NGO representatives to meet the CM to place their grievances before the government.
