ITANAGAR, Feb 19: Claiming that the Central Public Works Department (PWD) has taken up the works under the state government, the All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) has requested Chief Minister Pema Khandu to take steps for benefit of state contractors.
“If the state government is encouraging outside firms and companies to work in the state, then local entrepreneurs will be compelled to surrender their contractors’ registration certificates to the state government as they have no work in hand,” the association said.
It expressed concern over not awarding works under the Itanagar Smart City and fund under the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure to the state’s engineering departments like PWD, UD, RWD, Power (E) and PHED.
The association further alleged that “few IAS officers are misleading the state government while curtailing the right of local entrepreneurs.”
