KHONSA, Sep 3: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Service Authority (APSLSA), in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority opened two legal service clinics in the court complex of the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Khonsa and in the Khonsa Sub-jail.
Both the clinics were inaugurated by APSLSA Member Secretary, Budi Habung on Saturday.
A legal awareness camp cum counseling programme was also organized for jail inmates at Khonsa jail.
Addressing the legal aid counsels and para-legal volunteers in an orientation cum induction training programme, Habung spoke on roles and responsibilities of SLSA and DLSA, with emphasis on providing free and competent legal services.
He also explained in detail about the purpose of legal aid clinics, and roles and duties of para-legal volunteers.
Khonsa JMFC, Domo Padu spoke on basic principles of civil and criminal laws.
The videos prepared by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) on various activities were also screened for around 20 legal aid counsels and para-legal volunteers, who attended the programme.
Among others, DLSA Secretary, H Kri, EAC cum Ex officio jail Superintendent, Kardak Riba, DSP, Juwang Sumpa and members of the District Bar Association also attended the programme.
