Abi Olympics for differently-able held in Gangtok

GANGTOK, Sep 27: A two days state level ‘Abi Olympics’ for the differently-able was conducted at Gangtok, Sikkim by NIEPMD, Chennai in association with Yuva Vikash Sangathan, Arunachal Pradesh on September 25 and 26.
In total, 120 divyangjans from various parts of Sikkim attended the programme and took part in various sports events, such as 100M and 50M race, shot put, ball throwing and bocce, soft ball throw, assisted walk (50M) and display of yoga asanas.
Trophies and certificates were awarded to all the winners and participants by Dr B P Dhakal, Chief Consultant, Eye Surgeon, STNM Hospital cum General Secretary, SPASTIC Society of Sikkim.
Addressing the closing function, Dr Dhakal appreciated the Yuva Vikash Sangathan, who took the responsibility from NIEPMD, Chennai to conduct the two days event.
Bayanlu Tausit, Programme Coordinator, Yuva Vikash Sangathan also spoke on the occasion.
The inaugural function was attended by Sonam Doma, Joint Director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Government of Sikkim, Department of Human Resource Development.
The volunteer divyangjans of Arunachal Pradesh also presented group song and dance.
