ITANAGAR, Oct 4: The Peoples Forum of 12th Pakke Kessang Assembly Constituency (PFPKAC) claimed that the mass rubber plantation garden at Monai, under Seijosa Circle is illegally developed and without obtaining the Land Possession Certificate and No Objection Certificate from the authority concerned.
In a letter written to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) cum Secretary Department of Forest & Environment, the Forum stated that the matter was raised by locals with the Divisional Forest Officer on February 9, 2017 through RTI, but the DFO has failed to furnish information.
Drawing the PCCF’s attention towards the issue, the forum requested the authority to trace official record of the said plot of land.
The forum also questioned the authority on why no case has been filed against encroachers by the department despite knowledge of the encroachment.
