Governor holds review meeting with top bureaucrats

ITANAGAR, Oct 5: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh (Brig Retd) Dr B D Mishra on Thursday chaired his first review meeting on developmental activities of the state with senior officers of the state government at the Raj Bhavan and expressed concerns against corruption and leakage of public funds.
To keep a check on this, he stressed on third party auditing, e-payment and payment through bank accounts.
Stressing on putting in their heart and mind in implementing the ongoing developmental projects and programmes, the Governor also emphasized on quality education, training and skill development, better healthcare facilities, cleanliness and end open defecation, timely and proper implementation of projects and pollution free environment and sustainable development.
He also stressed that there must be no complacence in taking precautions to mitigate and adapt to disasters.
The Governor also advised the Secretary Home and Director General of Police to ensure that no citizen of Arunachal Pradesh joins anti-national groups and works against the security and integrity of the nation.
Stating that he will take up the issues of the state with the union government, the Governor assured to voice the challenges of the people with the appropriate authorities.
Issues including border area development, internet connectivity, roads, healthcare, waste management, environment and forests, Tirap, Changlang and Longding, state own resources and national flagship programmes were also discussed.
Earlier, the Chief Secretary briefed the Governor on the overall developmental scenario of the state. The Commissioners and Secretaries of various departments also apprised him of their concerned departmental affairs.
