GERUKAMUKH, Oct 7: As part of the ongoing Senior Citizens’ Week, the Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project of NHPC Ltd felicitated around 50 senior citizens from the project vicinity on Saturday at the NHPC campus.
The Senior Citizens’ Week was observed at the Project area from October 1 to 7, wherein various programmes for the elderly were organized. Senior Citizens from the nearby villages were invited to the project area and felicitated by the Executive Director of Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project.
Earlier, a health camp was also arranged for the elderly in the Project hospital where basic health check-up was done and medicine provided by a dedicated team of NHPC doctors.
Speaking on the occasion, the Executive Director applauded the efforts and dedication of the senior citizens in making the society a better place to live in and sought their blessings for the well-being of NHPC and the society.
Besides, Spandan teams (NHPC sponsored mobile medical units engaged in rural areas) have been instructed to give special focus on elderly patients.
