ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Green Arunachal Foundation (GAF) Chairman Takam Tatung has urged the Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) to take up with Human Resources Development (HRD) minister Prakash Javedkar regarding appointment of directors for NIT, Yupia and the North East Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Nirjuli.
He further said that AAPSU should persuade the Union minister to visit RGU and take a firsthand account of the infra-structure of the university.
Tatung has also urged the HRD minister to look into the discrepancies being faced by the indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh in the admission processes of the Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV)/Central Schools. He opined that KVs should absorb more indigenous students of the state and keep the ratio for admission quota at 50:50.
Further, the GAF Chairman has urged Javedkar to establish a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) office in Itanagar. Tatung also expressed optimism that AAPSU would take up the issue of Assam-Arunachal boundary imbroglio with Assam Chief Minister Sarwananda Sonowal who is scheduled to come to Itanagar to take part in the golden jubilee celebration of AAPSU.
