ITANAGAR, Oct 15: The five days residential workshop of Friends of Tribal Society (FTS), Arunachal Pradesh unit commenced at Community Hall, Six Kilo near here on October 14.
Minister Alo Libang who attended the opening ceremony urged the FTS to expand its welfare activities to interior villages for the benefit of poor and underprivileged tribal people.
He appreciated FTS state unit for running 90 free one-teacher school across the state and also for providing two of ambulances stationed at Itanagar for poor and needy patients free of cost.
FTS State Treasurer Hillang Tajak gave a brief report on 90 one-teacher schools run by FTS at Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts. He said that the Friends of Tribal Society, Arunachal unit will expand its number of school to 1100 in the state very soon.
