20th legal aid clinic opens in Seppa

SEPPA, Oct 18: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with East Kameng District Legal Services Authority opened the 20th legal aid clinic of the state at Seppa recently.
Established within the premises of the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, the legal aid clinic was formally inaugurated by APSLSA Member Secretary Budi Habung.
The legal aid clinic shall provide free counselling and other legal services to the applicants for legal aid through advocates of the District Authority who shall man the clinic on daily basis.
An orientation programme for the five legal aid counsels and 58 Para Legal Volunteers of the district was also held, where Habung spoke on roles and responsibilities of the legal services authorities, Lok Adalat, the Dos and Don’ts of penal lawyers, Victim Compensation Scheme, jail visit methods and roles and responsibilities of Para Legal Volunteers, etc.
During the interaction session, doubts and queries were addressed.
Training completion certificates were also given to the legal aid counsels.
