DIG reviews security scenario of Central Range

PASIGHAT, Oct 28: DIGP John Neihlaia in a high level meeting with senior police officers on Friday reviewed the security scenario of the Central Range and called for closer synergy between police and general people to strengthen people-friendly atmosphere.
The attending SPs and Commandant gave an overall view of the range in detailed presentations and briefed the DIGP about the present law and order situation in their respective districts. He was also briefed about the steps taken by police in crime control, besides measures taken in maintaining law and order.
After patient hearing on the security scenario, DIG Neihlaia opined that police performance was praise worthy and same dedication, devotion and team work was needed to maintain supremacy of law.
The DIG also observed that the crime rate has remarkably dropped, while illegal activities were under check and maximum pending cases were disposed-off in the range. The overall law and order situation was found peaceful except some sporadic incidents.
Neihlaia further directed the police officers to conduct vehicle and ILP checking frequently and also advocated for visible presence of police in public places, streets and market areas, regulation and control of vehicular traffic and to hold meetings with subordinate officer, timely sharing of information and timely disposal DE cases by all units.
