NONGPOH, Oct 28: Over 1,000 participants from across the country attended the inaugural session of the 20th Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Students’ National Convention 2017, hosted jointly by the Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST) and University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) at RIST campus at Techno City on the outskirts of Guwahati on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, ISTE President, Professor Pratapsinh K Desai gave an overview of ISTE and its achievements throughout the country, while AICTE Adviser, Professor Dileep N Malkhede stressed on working hand in hand to improve the infrastructure and teaching methods in the institutions imparting courses in technical and engineering subjects.
Earlier, a souvenir published to mark the occasion was also released. Several national and state level awards were also presented at the inaugural session.
Robotics football competition, quiz, model presentation, paper presentation on the theme “Technological transformation: a futuristic approach”, poster competition, circuit design competition, build-o-mania competition for civil engineering students and many other engrossing events followed the inaugural session.
