ITANAGAR, Oct 29: The Gyadi Welfare Society (GWS) has lodged a complaint with Home Minister Kumar Waii against one Stephen Jerang for allegedly attempting to murder a student of DNGC on October 25.
In its complaint letter, the GWS informed the Home Minister that the alleged accused has brutally stabbed Chatung Gyadi, a BCom first year student, with a knife while he was asleep in his rented house at Donyi Colony, Itanagar around 4 AM.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment in Shillong.
Describing it as attempted murder case, the GWS demanded that the Home Minister instruct the police to immediately apprehend the alleged accused and punish him as per law.
Meanwhile, the Home Minister has assured to issue necessary direction to the authorities for early arrest of the alleged accused and punishment as per law, the GWS informed.
The Society also briefed Parliamentary Secretary Tapuk Taku about the incident.
