ITANAGAR, Nov 3: The Panyor River Festival (PRF) is all set to be held from November 30 to December 2 this year at Yazali after a gap of nearly two years.
“The first two editions were a huge success and we hope to see the same this year,” Organising Chairman of the festival, Taba Techi told reporters at the Arunachal Press Club here on Friday.
Thanking the Department of Tourism for allocating Rs 30 lakh for the festival, Techi appreciated Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s personal interest in the festival.
“Though we could not organise the event for two years, we expect many visitors from across the state and elsewhere in the North East. The only change this time is that the festival venue will be shifted from Pitapool to the hydropower dam area,” Taba said.
Licha Thosum, the brand ambassador of the festival said the focus is on local participation.
“All artistes, management and food stalls will be by local people. The aim of the festival is to provide a platform for new talents,” she said, adding that the goal was to promote Yazali as a prime tourist destination and popularise home-stay and hospitality.
The festival will include an array of activities, including paragliding, ziplining, rafting, besides cultural and musical shows and a tribal food court.
