ITANAGAR, Nov 7: The All Arunachal Pradesh Govt Registered Contractors’ Organization (AAPGRCO) reiterated the demands it made in the meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on November 6 and hoped for an early solution to them by the state government.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Organisation President Sama Dodum told reporters that they wanted the earlier validity enlistment time of five years to be brought back, instead of the current three years validity according to the Central Public Works Department Enlistment Rules, 2005 (Amendment up to 2013).
It also opposed the large amount of Rs 3 lakh as late fee and the enlistment fee of Rs 5 lakh and revalidation processing fee of Rs 1.5 lakh to be paid by Class-I contractors, adding that according to the CPWD rules, enlistment and revalidation fee is only Rs 30,000.
It also called for cancellation of enlistment system and said that once registration is done there should be no further cancellation system in enlistment.
The AAPGRCO informed that the DCM had given a positive response to the memorandum during the meeting and hoped that the matter would be placed before the cabinet at the earliest since no deadline has been given yet.
