ITANAGAR, Nov 7: The Gerchi Welfare Society (GWS) submitted a representation to the Capital Complex Superintendent of Police to initiate early arrest of one Choma Doka and three others for their alleged involvement in attacking Dr Bengia Nyer and Techi Tapa on October 31 last.
Condemning such a barbaric act in broad daylight, the Society said that several days had passed and the alleged culprits were yet to be apprehended. It urged on the Capital police to expedite the case.
Reportedly, Dr Bengia Nyer was brutally assaulted by the alleged accused with a dao (machete) at T T Marg near the Energy Park tri-junction in Itanagar on October 31 at around 11.45 AM. When Techi Tapa came to intervene, he was also allegedly attacked.
A case regarding the incident has been registered at the Itanagar Police Station.
