Agri-Horti produces of Arunachal showcased at World Organic Congress

ITANAGAR, Nov 12: Various agricultural and horticultural produces of Arunachal Pradesh were showcased at the three days Organic World Congress, which concluded at India Expo Center and Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Sunday.
Produces like Ginger, Kiwi, Cardamom, Turmeric, Red-rice, Soyabean and other fruits and spices produced in the state were showcased in its pavilion by Team Arunachal, led by Tadu Game, Joint Director, Agriculture and SNO, State Organic Mission and Okit Palling, CEO Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board and Mission Organic Value Chain Development (MOVCD)’s State Coordinator.
Members from 10 Farmers Producer Companies (FPCs) under MOVCD of the state also formed part of the Team.
Tadu Game informed that business enquiries for various produces of the state were overwhelming. He exuded the confidence that the organic produces of the state can now easily be marketed.
The event saw participation of organic enthusiasts from more than 110 countries. More than 100 private players from the country also participated in it.
The 19th edition of OWC was structured in four conference tracks–Main Track, Farmers’ Track, Scientific Track, and Marketing Track.
The aim of the congress and related activities (organic exhibition and B2B meetings etc) is to share experiences, innovations and knowledge about the organic world, while giving the organizing country global visibility.
Once every three years, IFOAM – Organics International organizes the Organic World Congress in a different country to achieve its vision.
