17 girl students critically injured in accident

PALIN, Nov 18: Seventeen students of Government Higher Secondary School, Palin were critically injured, when a vehicle they were travelling in, met with an accident near Yangte on Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred, when the vehicle carrying 30 school children was returning from Yangte to Palin after conducting a special Outreach Camp, lost control during a steep climb.
All the 17 critically injured were reportedly female students.
NSS Programme Officer Ashok Kr Pathak also suffered critical injuries.
Fortunately, there were no reports of any casualty. All the injured were rushed to the 50-Bed Hospital at Jorung (Palin) and given first-aid.
As per report of the team of doctors, condition of most injured students were stated to be stable and the critically injured have been kept under close medical observation.
Majority of the school children studying in class IX and class X have suffered fractures, chest and head injuries.
The Deputy Commissioner and DMO also visited the injured students and extended all possible help. (DIPRO)
