ZIRO, Nov 23: The five fire victims of Kudung Barang, who were charred to death on November 21, have been identified by the police as Basu Dorji, his wife Rita Dorji, Thaneshwar Engti, John Fangso and Bola Bahadur Rai.
Apart from Bola Bahadur Rai, who is a native of Dhemaji in Assam, all the other four victims are from Behali, Assam.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner (West), Gamli Padu visited the fire accident sites at Hari and Kudung Borang to take stock of the relief and rehabilitation of victims on Thursday.
Padu, accompanied by other officials, assured all assistance to speed up relief entitlement to the victims. At the same time, he also urged all to be cautious and adopt mechanisms to avoid fire mishaps.
Offering condolences to the five victims of the Kudung Barang fire accident, he asked the DDMO to provide ex-gratia as per norms without any delay. He also donated some amount to the victims of both the accidents. (DIPRO)
