CM, Governor greets on Chalo Loku

ITANAGAR, Nov 24: The Governor Dr. BD Mishra has extended greetings to the people of the State on the festive occasion of ‘Chalo Loku’ celebrated by the Nocte community of the state.
In his message, the Governor emphasized that the indigenous communities in Arunachal Pradesh need to preserve, nurture and promote their culture and heritage. Festivals are an important heritage link for the communities and these festivities enhance their wellbeing and emotional cohesion. It also increase self-esteem, cultural confidence, develop initiative, leadership and collective opportunity for fulfilling community needs and materializing their aspirations, he added. May this socio-religious festival promote the spirit of peace and brotherhood amongst all the people, the Governor wished.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has also extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of Chalo Loku festival. Wishing the Nocte community, Khandu hoped for a bumper harvest and well being of all.
“Chalo Loku symbolizes end of the harvest season and beginning of a new agricultural cycle upon which our lives depend. I join my Nocte brothers and sisters in celebrating this phase of the year of happiness and celebrations,” said Khandu in a message.
