ITANAGAR, Dec 4: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Dr BD Mishra and Chief Minsiter Pema Khandu have conveyed their greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Podi-Barbi.
The governor offered his prayers to the Almighty for a bounty of peace and well-being to everyone in the society during the festival.
In his message, the governor said that every tribal festival offers an ambience to showcase the unique cultural heritage of its followers. It forms an essential link to carry forward the concerned tribe’s vibrant and rich customs and traditions, he said.
‘With vast diversity of culture and tradition, our state is a true reflection of unity in diversity. Podi-Barbi is one such festival,’ he added.
Also conveying his greetings and best wishes on the occasion of Podi-Barbi festival to the Adi community, especially those residing in Mechuka subdivision of West Siang district, the chief minister reiterated that the state government stands for each and every community and their welfare and preservation of indigenous culture and heritage.
‘As we celebrate the post-harvest festival of Podi-Barbi with traditional fervour, let us thank the Almighty and Mother Nature for a prosperous and surplus production of crops and good health of all,’ Khandu said in his message.
