ITANAGAR, Dec 4: The All Puroik Welfare Society (APWS) has expressed serious resentment over the mention of the word ‘Sulung’ in one of the questions in the recently held Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examinations (Prelims) and demanded an unconditional apology from the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
It informed that the word ‘Sulung’ was mentioned in the question paper (Serial No 150) as one of the four options to a question.
‘We strongly condemn the APPSC for mentioning the derogatory word in the question paper. It is an insult to the Puroik community who are now a recognized tribe of the state,’ the Society stated in a press release, adding that the APPSC, being one of the state’s ‘highest reputed body,’ should have been careful and averted such an error.
