ITANAGAR, Dec 8: Copenhagen (Denmark)-based fashion designer Nixon Bui will be presenting a show at the Waii International Hotel here on Saturday evening.
Briefing media persons at the press club on the background of his creation, Bui said the show “will be a night of art, fashion, and celebration.”
He said it will not only showcase his designs but also introduce his side project – NIXON BUI Vodka.
Founded in 2014, Bui’s clothing brand draws heavily on tribal motifs.
“The tribal inspirations are not only reflected in the designs, but also in the values of the company which recognizes and respects the forces of nature and advocates quality and originality,” he said.
A native of Daporijo in Upper Subansiri district and a member of the Tagin tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, Bui blends ancient tribal and minimalistic Scandinavian elements in his works. His pilot collection displayed T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, pants, and caps.
