AALO, Dec 14: APEDA Chairman Jarkar Gamlin and APB&OCWWB Chairman Jalley Sonam distributed 20 TV sets among beneficiaries during an ‘awareness camp-cum-launching of distribution of welfare kits to registered labourers’ here in West Siang district on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, Gamlin lauded the constant effort of the Board to work for the welfare of the labourers of West Siang. He stressed on the need to generate awareness on labour laws and various welfare measures. He also exhorted the labour community to imbibe work culture to emerge as the work force of the government departments and other establishments.
Sonam informed that the welfare kits are being distributed initially to 20 registered workers, adding that all registered beneficiaries will also get kits through the district labour officer in due course of time.
He stressed on the need to affiliate all trade unions of the state to the Bharat Mazdoor Union to reap benefits from the Centre.
APB&OCWWB member Kenkar Yomcha, District Labour Officer S Yomcha along with several other trade union leaders were present on the occasion. (DIPRO)
