Teachers seek correction of pay band

ITANAGAR, Dec 15: The All Arunachal Pradesh Elementary Teachers’ Association (AAPETA) has urged the director of Elementary Education to initiate steps to ensure correction of the pay band in the 6th CPC of the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT).
In a representation to the director, the APETA on Friday said that “PETs and junior librarians who were placed in the lower pay scale and grade pay than that of junior teachers in the 5th and the 6th CPC recommendation have been granted a higher selection scale compared to the Junior Teachers (TGT), despite the fact that the junior teachers have already been granted a selection scale in pay band-3 with grade pay of Rs 5400 vide Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure) GoI notification No.GSR 161 (E) dated New Delhi, March12, 2009.’
‘Despite repeated reminders to the Director of Elementary Education no positive response came from the department,’ it stated, adding that it would be compelled to seek legal intervention if its demand is not met.
