DC visits remote villages

KOLORIANG, Dec 18: Kurung Kumey Deputy Commissioner Kanki Darang toured some of the remotest villages under Sarli and Polosang circles of the district from 13 to 17 December.
The deputy commissioner, accompanied by a host of engineers, health officials and officials of various other departments, toured Palo, Polosang, Machane, Mili, Gaane, and Sape.
He interacted with the villagers to know about their expectations and the developmental activities in the area.
The DC assured the villagers of Mili and Gaane to provide safe drinking water connection and solar light to the households. He distributed blankets and warm cloths to elderly persons.
The DC encouraged the villagers to take up agricultural and horticultural activities for self-reliance.
Mili is the last village along the route of Mukhpla Pass, and lies at the 2nd Control Point. Gaane is the last village along the route of Jammu Pass-l and lies at the 3rd Control Point.
The tour was a part of a public outreach programme under the Sankalp se Siddhi Tak programme. It was also aimed at taking stock of various development activities being carried out in those areas.
