SEPPA, Dec 18: East Kameng is gearing up for the by-poll to the Pakke-Kessang assembly constituency by distributing polling stations among the polling teams through a randomization process conducted here on Monday.
The process was conducted in the presence of General Observer (ECI), M Joy Singh, District Electoral Officer Rajeev Takuk, and the representatives of the contesting candidates.
While the DEO reiterated his call for free, fair and peaceful conduct of election, the general observer and Election Coordination Officer, DK Thungon, briefed the micro observers on their role, power, and responsibilities in a training programme conducted later in the day.
Police personnel and magistrates were sensitized on their roles and duties, as well.
The movement plan and security deployment details were elaborated in a separate meeting.
SP Vikas Kumar, EAC Pama Bagang, DySPs SN Phaichelupa and Ringu Ngupok, CO Takam Nicholas, and magistrates and police officials were present at the coordination meeting. (DIPRO)
