AALO, Dec 18: ‘Mission tobacco-free school’ and ‘Tobacco-free Arunachal’ – a series of school awareness campaigns on the harmful effects of tobacco – concluded at the government middle school in Gumin Nagar here in West Siang district on Monday.
During the campaign, which was conducted by the District Tobacco Control Cell, District Consultant Yomnya Badak made PowerPoint presentations on the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and the COTP Act.
Social work mobilizer, Obang Mize, spoke on the ill-effects of tobacco, its causes and remedies, while psychologist Miti Gammeng administered the anti-tobacco pledge.
The school’s Headmaster, Tumto Ete, also spoke.
