ITANAGAR, Dec 26: The Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donor Organisation (AVBDO), affiliated to the AVYS, will conduct a voluntary blood donation camp at Rama Krishna Mission Hospital (RKMH) here on 29 December, from 9 am onwards.
The initiative is aimed at meeting the extreme shortage of blood in the blood banks of the RKMH and the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), Naharlagun.
‘Even after conduct of an emergency donation camp on 20 December that yielded 24 units of blood, the RKMH and TRIHMS continue to face blood crisis to conduct serious operations,’ the AVYS stated in a press release on Tuesday.
‘Even before the new year, there has been continuous flow of patients for the last one week who need blood at both the hospitals,’ it said. ‘It may be recalled that out of 37 accident patients in the 2016 New Year, four breathed their last because of the inability to arrange blood.’
Those interested in joining the AVYS’ ‘Save Life’ mission may contact it in the following numbers: 8258011533 (Ramesh Jeke, Chairman, AVYS), or 9436631215 (Pradeep Kumar Behera, Chief Advisor, AVYS).
