ITANAGAR, Jan 18: The Guwahati Arunachal Students’ Union (GASU) is celebrating 50 years of its establishment with the ‘Arunachal Carnival’ at the AEI field in Chandmari from 16 to 19 February.
Organising Chairman Deo Lorrah Sangno said that the motive of the carnival is to promote Arunachal and offer a glimpse of the cultural aspects of the state to the outside world.
The team also plans to conduct a cleanliness drive in Chandmari area, in line with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
GASU President Toofan Lida said the four-day festival will give an inside view of the food, attires and traditions of the people of Arunachal, and hopefully attract tourists and people interested in research.
Inviting everyone staying in or visiting Guwahati to attend the festival, Lida said that they also expect all former GASU executive members to be a part of the golden jubilee celebration.
