NESA demands installation of solid waste sorting machine

ITANAGAR, Jan 23: The Nyishi Elite Students of Arunachal Pradesh (NESA) has demanded immediate installation of a solid waste sorting machine at the solid waste management plant (SWMP) at Chimpu.
In a release, the NESA informed that there are machineries installed at the SWMP that only convert solid waste to biodegradable waste, and that non-biodegradable wastes are being burnt, causing environmental pollution.
It also demanded installation of windrow compositing technology with an installation capacity of 200 TPD; adoption of hygienic processing and waste disposal practices and proven technologies; and formulation of standards and regulation for management of solid waste at the SWM plant.
