AGARTALA, Jan 28: Chief Minister Pema Khandu took part in the sradhanjali sabha for senior monk Sasanapriya Mahathera on Sunday at the Jetaban Buddha Vihara in Machmara, about 150 km from the state capital here.
Addressing the devotees, the chief minister said that in his lifetime, the senior monk made several contributions for the growth of the area and for Buddhism.
“Though the venerable monk is not with us, his teachings will be always remembered,” the chief minister said, and urged the people to carry forward his philosophies and sermons.
The chief minister also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his contribution towards the development of the Buddhists, and urged the people to pray for him as well.
He assured to personally contribute for the development of the vihara. (CMO)
