Chum Darang appointed IMA-AP ambassador

PASIGHAT, Feb 25: Chum Darang, Miss Asia 5th runner up, was appointed as IMA-AP (Indian Medical Association-Arunachal Pradesh) ambassador for voluntary blood donation campaign in the state.
Her appointment was made during the IMA-AP’s two days workshop cum continuing medical education (CME) on rational use of blood held at Pasighat on 23 and 24 February.
Chum appealed to all the youth of the state to come forward and donate blood voluntarily to save lives.
An awareness programme on voluntary blood donation was also organised in the evening for different NGOs of East Siang district, wherein Dr Kaling Jerang explained the importance of voluntary blood donation.
Dr Poonam Cochic, CMO, Main Blood Bank, AIIMS, New Delhi and Dr Hem Chandra Pandey, Assistant Professor AIIMS, New Delhi attended the workshop as guest faculty.
Apart from doctors from different parts of the state, the programme was attended by Dr BN Hajarika, Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat, various NGOs and students.
