DCC reviews service area of banks

AALO, Mar 11: The West Siang district consultative committee (DCC) reviewed all service area allocation of villages to bank branches operating in the district in a meeting held on 9 March last.
Charing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan stressed on opening of Jan Dhan bank accounts to avail advantage of various medical, legal and others camps held periodically at different places to give useful tips to bank customers.
“Since facilitating loans are a part of development issues concerning rural people, non participation of various banks of Basar and Likabali is a cause of concern,” said the DC and sought explanation from those absentee banks.
She also asked all banks to furnish the list of defaulters latest by 31st March so that action could be initiated soon.
The chief manager of the lead bank highlighted performances under Annual Credit Plan 2017-18, financial inclusion under PMJDY, PMJJBY, APV, AADHAR seeding, government sponsored loan and recover position and development of banking operations in the district.
DDI Marme Kato Loya highlighted various problems in extending loan facilities to various beneficiaries through banks.
Branch managers of various banks also highlighted their activities. (DIPRO)
